For many years now, A.O. Smith has understood the enormous added value of condensing gas-fired water heaters. For this reason, A.O. Smith began the development of energy-efficient condensing water heaters at an early stage. The first gas-fired high-performance water heater, the BFC Cyclone, was launched back in 1998 and its 3rd generation is nowadays still our best-selling water heater.

BFC Cyclone is a fully room-sealed condensing high-efficiency water heater. This powerful water heater is equipped with a ThermoControl for easy control and fault diagnosis. In addition it has a voltage-free contact for general fault indication to a Building Management System, making it ideal for a large building like a sport facility, hotel, school, etc. Additionally, our BMS interface can be connected to convert information from the installation to ModBus protocol. The interface can monitor almost 50 parameters such as temperatures in the applicance, burning hours and operating hours. The current generation is fitted with an automatic gas/air premix burning system including burner modulation, which reduces the NOx emission and the noise levels making them a very environmentally-friendly, powerful and reliable hot water solution.

This energy-saving condensing range comes with an A-label and with its low NOx emission it meets perfectly the strict ErP regulation.

Moreover, for applications with low heating demand, BFC Cylcone can be combined with Theta Dual Service. Due to its intelligent control, Theta can use BFC’s storage for both hot water and heating, from one system, without compromising comfort level.
