Russian and German businesses discuss the prospects of mutual investments

11 May 2016

Delegation of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) led by CEO Kirill Dmitriev hosted a business lunch with representatives of prominent German companies. Discussion was focused on developing and strengthening economic cooperation between Russia and Germany and alternative approaches to collaboration between Russian and German businesses.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the leading German medical, automotive, aircraft construction, industrial and technological companies. The participants discussed the investment potential and export opportunities of Russia and Germany, as well as crucial issues surrounding bilateral relations.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said: "It is very important that we meet with our German partners in this format as it opens up discussion about specific case studies and approaches to cooperating in the current environment. RDIF is already working on joint projects with French and Italian partners and we hope that soon we will be in a position to announce joint initiatives with our German partners."

Dr. Klaus Mangold, Prof., Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Baden-Wuerttemberg, said: "The continued development of Russian-German relations should not be limited by restrictions but built on collaboration. Our business communities recognize this and are constantly looking for opportunities to reach our mutual potential. We are delighted to find likeminded partners in RDIF who engage openly and progress discussions towards concrete projects."
